Lost in translation – Japan edition

Similar to China, I was able to keep myself entertained with signage in Japan. The Japanese are a little more diligent in ensuring that their English translations make sense. Some things still get through though. It’s interesting to see how different cultures convey rules and ordinances in signs. Products can be advertised in an interesting way too. Here are a few signs from our time in Japan:

Medical Idea
Do not touch the Geishas…among other things
Warning sign for Nara Deer Park
Do not chase deer
Coffee, sugar, and “creamy”
They make the animals look so friendly
Monkey boxing gloves
I don’t think “processed food” would fly in the US
I like the illustrations
